Yamacraw Arrowhead Trail

Take a journey into the past on a trail named to honor the Native American Tribes that once lived and thrived here in the Appalachian Mountains of Eastern Kentucky, and an old coal mining community that bears the same name as one of these original tribes, “Yamacraw”. The Yamacraw Arrowhead, roughly the shape of an arrowhead, starts and ends at the Dairy Bar, a 50’s style diner virtually unchanged since it was originally built, in beautiful Whitley City, KY. This 74.3 mile (2 hour) trail will take you by many natural wonders such as Natural Arch, Princess Falls, and Yamacraw Bridge and is just minutes away from some of McCreary County’s most incredible sights like Yahoo Falls, Blue Heron Mining Community, and Campground, Devil’s Jump Overlook, Blair Creek Resort, and Split Bow Arch just to name a few. This trail offers access to hiking and other outdoor recreational activities and features the region’s largest network of adventure bike/dual sport and other off-road opportunities.
