Get ready for a new kind of Appalachian adventure!
The 12 Hours of Southern West Virginia is a competitive navigation and waypoint scavenger hunt rally showcasing the roads, communities, landmarks, and scenery of Southern West Virginia.
Participants will have 12 hours to navigate the region, locate designated waypoints, complete challenges, and earn as many points as possible before returning to the finish. Success will depend on smart route planning, accurate navigation, teamwork, time management, and efficiency—not speed.
This event takes place on public roads open to normal traffic. It is not a speed contest, and participants receive no advantage for exceeding posted speed limits. All participants must obey traffic laws, follow roadway signage, drive responsibly, and remain courteous to other motorists and the communities they visit.
Organized by 24 Hours of Appalachia and Backroads of Appalachia, this event combines adventure with our mission of supporting local communities through responsible motorsports tourism and regional exploration.
