24 Hours of Appalachia: Appalachian 1000
The ultimate adventure returns as the Appalachian 1000 closes out the 2027 24 Hours of Appalachia season with the most ambitious endurance rally of the year.
Spanning three days, three stages, and more than 1,000 miles, this epic journey takes participants across the heart of Appalachia through West Virginia, Ohio, and Kentucky. Unlike any other event in the series, competitors will finish each stage in a different host community, experiencing new towns, new terrain, and a new adventure every day before launching into the next stage.
Open to UTVs, motorcycles, and full-size 4×4 vehicles, the Appalachian 1000 is the ultimate test of endurance, navigation, preparation, and teamwork. This is not a race—it’s an expedition where smart decisions, reliable equipment, and perseverance are the keys to reaching the finish line.
Participants will travel through remote mountain landscapes, winding gravel roads, historic communities, forest trails, scenic overlooks, and some of the most iconic backroads in Appalachia. Every stage offers its own unique character, creating an unforgettable experience that showcases the beauty and diversity of the region.
As the Grand Finale of the 2027 season, the Appalachian 1000 brings together the entire 24 Hours of Appalachia community for one last challenge before the year comes to a close. It’s more than an event—it’s a celebration of adventure, the friendships built throughout the season, and the spirit that defines the 24HOA family.
