About the event
***Tickets go on Sale January 1, 2026***
ROADBOOK READER NOT REQUIRED! JUST AN ANDRIOD SMART PHONE OR TABLET w/GPS CAPABILITIES!
NO iOS devices will work this year. We have had too many scoring issues with participants using iOS devices.
We are excited to team up with Backroads of Appalachia to host the inaugural Annual Bluegrass Rallye Raid. This will be a 4-day event with a Mandatory Prologue on Day 1. Days 2 – 4 each consist of 280km-350km of navigational challenges each day. You will have to participate all four days to be eligible for prizes and awards. NO GPS Tracks will be issued, only Roadbooks for navigation. We have teamed up with Terra Pirata, who has developed a state of the art customizable digital roadbook navigation app to track and score your routes. This will track the participants’ Waypoints, Speed Zones, Penalties, and Time. Zacker Adventures and Backroads of Appalachia will supply camping 4 nights, Breakfast on 3 mornings, Dinner on 4 evenings, and a Shit Ton of Fun!
We will have awards for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd places for ALL Classes (see below for class designations). Each vehicle will have to use the Terra Pirata App for Tracking, Waypoint, and Speed Zone verification. The App is FREE for participants to use during the event.

Central Bivouac – Appalachian Overland Triangle HQ, 2843 Little Sturgeon Creek Rd., Booneville, KY 41314
Food – All breakfasts and dinners will be served at the Central Bivouac. These are the meals that are included for the participants and crew members with wrist bands. If you need snacks and supplies, there is a Dollar General in Booneville and a Jack’s IGA Supermarket in Beattyville.
Lodging & Camping – Due to construction and possible delays, we can not offer the lodging that is currently being constructed onsite, nor are we able to offer plug-ins for campers. Soon as these are available, we will post them and open them up for rentals. They will be filled on a first come first serve basis.
Camping – There will be camping for the participants at the central bivouac. The camping is primitive with no electric or water hook ups. We will have Port-o-Johns for campers, participants, and attendees. Please make sure your have needed power source and water for the weekend.
Lodging – There are Airbnb rentals available in the area. There are also a couple local hotel/motels in the near by towns. There are no major hotel chains in close proximity to the Central Bivouac. London, KY and Red River Gorge, KY approximately 45 mins away is the closest location with major hotels.
We will not be holding a “Roadbook Navigation Class”. We recommend you watch these 4 YouTube videos to learn how to read a roadbook, or polish up your roadbook reading skills.
