This Event has Been Updated!!!! The WCMG and Backroads of Appalachia Presents Our Second Annual HARLAN JEEP and BIKEFEST and Custom Bike Show. This event just got a whole lot bigger thanks to our friends at Harlan County Tourism, The Muddy Harlan Jeep Crew, and the Appalachian Woodboogers Jeep Clubs! Join us for an spectacular day in the Appalachian Mountains as we bring the bikes and jeeps again this year to “Dog Days in Kentucky” in downtown Harlan! Last year’s event was big but this year is going to be even bigger with plenty of great events and activities happening throughout the day!
This is Fun for the whole family with plenty of Food, Live Music, Vendors, Activities for the Kids, and whole lot of Jeeps, Bikes, Slingshots, and Hot Rods as we join forces with Harlan County Tourism and Tri-City Tourism(Cumberland, Benham, Lynch) again this year for our 2nd Annual HARLAN JEEP and BIKEFEST! Did I mention Hot Dogs?
We might even see the rare and illusive Appalachian Woodbooger! What is a Woodbooger, come and find out for yourself! You may even get a picture with him!
Bring out those custom bikes for your chance to win 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or Best in Show at Frydaddy’s Old School Bike Show judged by Harlan County and Tri-City Tourism! This is the same Bike show we do at the Big Rallys and everyone can compete and has a chance to win because we us blind judges chosen at Random! Come on out and see the Infamous Rat Bike being called the “Backroads Bruiser” built by WCMG Group Member and our Friend David Long from Shortfuse Customs! This bike has won 5 big shows already including Rat Hole at the Nature Coast Bikefest and several others including 2 of ours like “Shiner’s Choice” at the Beattyville Bourbon and Moonshine Festival and Frydaddy’s Old School Backroads Bike Show at the Thunderbeach Rally in PCB earlier this year! It even has a Mountain Dew Holder built into the tank and is fully Automatic! A must see!!
Ride some of our absolute best trail routes throughout the day all right there in Harlan County including Miners Slope, The Slingshot, Coal Train 421, Little Shepherd Trail, and of course the one and only Dragonslayer Hwy 160 over Kentucky’s Highest Mountain! 24 miles of total badassery and a 55MPH speed limit and one incredible overlook! Do not forget to visit our temporary Welcome Center located in the Historic Train Depot in Lynch Kentucky to get some sweet merchandise and have a cold drink while you learn about the history of this one of a kind coal town and the home to the Portal 31 Mine Tour! Also the town were Backroads of Appalachia was founded!
All proceeds from this event will go to the Harlan County Sheriff’s Shop with a Cop Program to help underprivileged Children in Harlan County have a great Christmas! Bring an unwrapped toy to donate and go in our Jeep Tub Trailer or donate to this cause directly at the event and enter to win a set of competition 10″ inch speakers courtesy of our partners at Maniac Audio! We will also have a 50/50 Raffles, WCMG/BOA Merchandise, Prize Drawings, and More! Come on out and see the New Backroads of Appalachia Trailer and Mobile Welcome Center built by our Volunteers and Appalachian Small Businesses!
Bike Show registration starts at 11:00am and is $25.00 per bike. All bikes are welcome! This is one event you do not want to miss as we bring the bikes and jeeps once again this year to downtown Harlan!
