High Water Inn

Built in 2019, Highwater Inn is conveniently located in Mullens just a little more than one mile from The Hatfield-McCoy trail system and the newly constructed Coal Fields Expressway. One queen sized bed, two full sized beds, and four twin sized beds accommodate up to ten persons.  Guests are provided free Wifi, a complete kitchen with utensils and dishes, three showers, two decks, and an outdoor area with a picnic table, chairs, and fire pit . Parking is plentiful for several vehicles, ATVs, and trailers with gas available just a few hundred yards away. Multiple restaurants are just a short ride or walk away.

Highland Winery

The winery itself is part of a bed & breakfast. The wines here are pretty good and the owner is incredibly friendly. Get a relaxed stay in the mountains enjoying a glass of the best wine.

We are in a great location, Just one mile from Buffalo Mountain and Devil Anse Trails so there is no need to pack up and drive to the trails and unload,You can hit the trails right from our campground!! Our convenience store is a 1/2 mile from the campground. We have Hatfield McCoy Trail permits and souvenirs, camping supplies, hot deli food, Hunt Brothers pizza and more.

The space
Hillbilly Hideout is a newly renovated rental unit with plenty of space for your family or closest friends! The large open concept features 2 bedrooms with a full-size bed and twin bunks in one room and queen size bed and twin bunks in the other.

It also has a full kitchen equipped with a stove/oven, microwave, keurig, coffee pot, utensils, pots/pans, etc. , a large living area, dining room and game room for your entertainment. Outside, you can sit and relax around the fire pit or grill your favorites with a large charcoal grill located under the gazebo.

Hills and Thrills ATV and Sports Lodge

Hills and Thrills ATV and Sports Lodge is a two and a half story house with four bedrooms, three baths, two fully equipped kitchens, a great room with TV and dining area and a family style sitting room. We also have a balcony designated for smoking. We have parking for up to eight trucks and trailers and a fire pit and wash area. There is free WiFi and flat screen TVs in each bedroom. We provide bed linens, towels and start-up supplies including toilet tissue, paper towels and trash bags. We can accommodate a group of 12 guests.

Hills and Thrills is located between the ATV friendly towns of Welch and Kimball in McDowell County. We set at the entrance of Carswell Hollow where you can ride your ATVs to have direct access to four trail heads which include the Indian Ridge, Pinnacle, Warrior and Pocahontas.

Our 2-story log cabin provides plenty of outdoor refreshment with a spacious front porch and back deck with a dual gas/charcoal grill, balcony, wooden swing, and a fire-pit with plenty of cut firewood. It sits within a private holler on 105 acres along the edge of the Daniel Boone National Forest. The rustic-chic decor inside combines antique furnishings, repurposed barn wood paneling, unique lighting, electric fireplace, and a claw-footed tub amidst modern conveniences.

We furnish comfortable Full Bed with Fresh Linens and Comforter, Fresh Towels and Wash Clothes. Common Kitchen area with refrigerator and basic cooking utensils. Very cool place with historic charm. This unit has 1 Bed and can accommodate 2 Guests.

We are still currently remodeling, so priced reasonable for a good, clean, safe place to lay your head for a night.

Our Lodge is just “down the street” from the trail entrance. Matewan is ATV friendly. And every morning that you stay with us you will indulge in an all-you-can-eat country breakfast. We also have a Bunk House and cabin rooms out back for group trail riders. We have special mountain riding rates for groups. Check us out! We provide you with a gated and locked in area for you atv’s and bikes. We have a wash down also. We will wash the muddy trail gear for you and have them ready for you the next morning. We have wireless internet and over 700 movies to watch on our big movie screen. No extra charge for all the amenities we have been offering for over 10 years. Ice, bottled water, sodas and homemade goodies and snacks for your enjoyment.  Need trail passes? I have them right here in the Lodge. We have great porches to sit and visit on and a great little town to see.
